Classic Antarctic Peninsula
- 01DAY 1
Arrive in Ushuaia
Arrive at least a day before embarkation and settle into a hotel in Ushuaia. Check expedition documents and clothing with the vessel team; gateway arrangements depend on the sailing.
- 02DAY 2
Embark at the edge of the world
Board your confirmed expedition vessel, meet the team and attend mandatory safety briefings. Settle into your shared cabin as the voyage begins.
- 03DAY 3
Drake Passage: southbound
A sea day for polar introductions, wildlife watching from permitted deck areas and time to adjust to the crossing. Sea conditions determine the pace.
- 04DAY 4
Towards the Antarctic Peninsula
Continue the crossing and prepare boots and outerwear for biosecurity checks. The expedition leader introduces possible landing areas once conditions are known.
- 05DAY 5
First Antarctic encounters
Begin the flexible Peninsula programme. A Zodiac cruise or shore landing may bring close views of ice and wildlife, subject to the expedition leader’s assessment.
- 06DAY 6
Icebergs & quiet bays
Explore another area selected for the day’s wind, ice and swell. Spend time observing the landscape and listening to onboard naturalists between outings.
- 07DAY 7
Wildlife & polar stories
Look for penguins and other wildlife from approved viewing areas. Visits are managed to protect animals and landing sites; particular species or sites cannot be promised.
- 08DAY 8
One more day in the ice
Make the most of the final planned exploration day. The captain may adjust the schedule to allow for the return crossing; optional adventure activities depend on the vessel.
- 09DAY 9
Drake Passage: northbound
Head back towards South America. Review photographs, join final talks and watch for seabirds from the ship as conditions permit.
- 10DAY 10
Returning to Tierra del Fuego
Continue north and prepare for disembarkation. Keep flight arrangements flexible enough for the vessel’s confirmed arrival schedule.
- 11DAY 11
Disembark in Ushuaia
Leave the vessel and transfer as arranged in your final quote. Your expert will recommend flight timing and any extra hotel night needed after the sailing.

This is an expedition outline, not a fixed port-by-port cruise. Ships, landing sites and daily programmes vary with weather, ice and permits. Prices are per adult sharing an entry-level cabin on selected sailings; cabin upgrades cost more. The operator must confirm medical forms, evacuation cover, luggage limits and gateway travel requirements. Flights to South America and onward connections are quoted separately.
